The Divide (2011)
Bleak, dark, disturbing and horrible. Not often horror leaves a bad taste in my mouth and less often I see a kid die in a movie and feel relieved for them but in this case it really was for the best.
I really liked it but if you’ve got those sort of horror tastes (no shade intended) that extend to watching Vera Farmiga banish demons and ghosts or you think Misommar was dark or ,god forbid, you’re the person I saw who thought the Pet Sematary remake was ‘nasty’ then you’ll probably be bored or sickened.
The script seems to have bugged people but I barely noticed it, I was too busy wondering what was going to happen.
Watching people bicker and insult each other about this movie and calling it unrealistic is funny in itself for reasons apparent to anyone who’s watched this.
The post apocalypse thing is a theme and not much of the movie, most of it is people devolving and being cruel to each other in a grotty basement.
It’s a bummer, even by Xavier Gens’ standards
Interesting Stuff:
Milo Ventimiglia's mum thought his performance was so good that he must have trauma he wasn't telling her about
A lot of this was improvised which is rather impressive
