Full disclosure: this is filmed on an iphone, the sound is tinny and so very bad BUT

The characters are not as bad as people are saying, generic and bland is the worst I could think of, there’s a drunk dudebro who loves Michael Bay, a blonde instathot who has a seashell for a brain, a knockoff Kardashian looking one who’s supposed to be the kick-ass one I think and a knockoff Hemsworth brother but only the dudebro is truly obnoxious.

The other 3 are definitely not annoying, as I said, just bland and lacking a personality.

So the four stereotypes of the apocalypse are setting off to an abandoned resort on a little known Hawaiian island because a youtube video says it’s haunted.

Not a bad premise at all, the thing about this is I’m reasonably sure parts are meant to be very tongue and cheek or outright parody. If I’m wrong I guess that tells you all about this movie but if no-one else has noticed then bully for the writer I guess.

It has a nice 80s vapourwave soundtrack and it uses chromatic aberration which is an acquired taste but I have said taste so I liked it.

Sure it slightly drags in parts but for the most it’s not too shabby at all, it feels and sounds like found footage but it’s not.

The ending is a little odd and rushed but one of the effects is practical I’m sure and it’s actually well done.

An oddity and not a top priority but if you watch it and manage through the first 10 minutes you can stick it until the end.
